Launch Call RECAP: Introduction to the Underground Community

Launch Call RECAP: Introduction to the Underground Community

Sunday March 2, 6:00 - 7:00 PM

Quick recap

Amos and Titus introduced the Underground community platform, a Christian community aimed at equipping believers for deeper spiritual growth and bold living. The platform's vision is to grow worldwide, offering online resources, in-person connections, and eventual mission trips, with the goal of creating a supportive environment where Christians can be built up in their faith. The group discussed their goals for the platform, the importance of meditating on scriptural concepts, and the potential of their community to bring together people of different ages and backgrounds, with a focus on building deeper connections within the community.

Summary

1. Introducing Underground Community Platform

Amos and Titus prepare for a meeting to introduce the Underground community platform. They discuss the agenda, which includes welcoming participants, explaining the purpose and vision of Underground, introducing team members, providing a platform overview, and outlining expectations for the month. Titus will cover the theological groundwork and mission, while Amos will manage the slides and facilitate introductions. They plan to keep the meeting engaging by starting with energy and direction, and allowing participants to share why they joined the community. The meeting will conclude with a Q&A session and a call to action for participants to engage with the platform.

2. Underground Christian Community for Spiritual Growth

The meeting introduces Underground, a new Christian community aimed at equipping believers for deeper spiritual growth and bold living. Titus Buelow, a pastor, explains that the purpose is to create a supportive environment where Christians can be built up in their faith and gain confidence to serve in their local churches and daily lives. The community is based on confessional Lutheran beliefs but aims to be inclusive of all Christians. Core values include being powered by Christ, grounded in truth, bold in faith, and providing a supportive community. The vision is for Underground to grow worldwide, offering online resources, in-person connections, and eventual mission trips. Participants are encouraged to share their backgrounds and expectations for the community.

3. Community Building Through Christian Growth

Amos, Titus's younger brother, discussed his involvement in church work and his desire to partner with others in personal development and Christian maturity through the platform Underground. Joanna, who is planting a new church in Florida, expressed her desire for spiritual growth and community. Mike highlighted the need for accountability and a supportive community, while Jeffery emphasized the importance of community and faith development.

4. Discussing Faith and Accountability Goals

In the meeting, the group discussed their goals for the platform and how it will help them stay connected and accountable in their Christian lives. They emphasized the importance of daily spiritual growth and the need to speak about their faith more frequently. Amos encouraged slow and thoughtful interactions, and they planned to use the platform to discuss various aspects of their faith over the course of the month.

5. Exploring Faith and Inclusivity Challenges

Titus discussed the importance of meditating on scriptural concepts and their practical applications in everyday life. Beth shared her experience moving between churches due to family politics and her desire to create a more inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities. Titus empathized with Beth's struggles with anxiety and emphasized the potential of their group to provide a broader network of support and connection.

6. Building Multi-Generational Community on a Platform

Amos, Julius, and Titus discussed the potential of their community platform to bring together people of different ages and backgrounds. Julius expressed his excitement about sharing the platform with his congregation, particularly the young adults who are looking for deep conversations and community beyond social media. Titus emphasized the unique aspect of their platform being multi-generational, which he believes is a niche not fully addressed by existing groups. Amos and Titus also highlighted the potential for mentorship within the platform. Joanna then guided the group through the first member experience on the platform, emphasizing the ease of entry by checking things off the initial onboarding checklist to help familiarize, and slowly starting to engage with others' content to start connecting with each other.

7. Building Vulnerability in Christian Community

This part began with Joanna encouraging participants to share what's on their minds and hearts in the Haven section, sharing personal hardships, or encouragement for others, or asking for prayers about something on your heart. She emphasized the importance of vulnerability - yes it can be uncomfortable at first! - in building deeper connections within the community. Titus suggested revisiting past prayers to reflect on God's answers, and Amos proposed using the chat and prayer room for sharing and replying to others' requests. Joanna drew attention to the "safe room" for sharing personal struggles and seeking advice from others, with the comfort of knowing this community is here to encourage and lift up, and not to judge or shame. Titus proposed using the training ground for deep theological discussions, and the team discussed developing trainings across various Christian identity categories.

8. New Content and Platform Update

Titus outlines the regular cadence for new content, which will typically drop on Sundays at 6 PM Central Time. He explains that each month will focus on a specific theme, with weekly content building on the initial concept, culminating in an hour-long discussion call at the end of the month. Titus also addresses the reasoning behind the subscription fee, emphasizing that it helps maintain the platform, plan future events, and keeps the community focused. Amos and Joanna encourage participants to explore the platform, invite friends, and reach out for support or questions.
