We need to make a mental shift about the times we live in. We are acting as if we live in times of peace even though we live in a season of war.
Until the last day comes, we are part of a war waging all around us, even if it is largely unseen by our physical eyes. Angels and demons, the devil and God battle for our souls.
Thankfully, Jesus, the commander of the heavenly forces and the King of humanity came to this earth to win the war over evil once and for all. All who side with him will ultimately enjoy eternal victory in the halls of heaven. Because of his perfect life offered as an innocent sacrifice in our place to free prisoners from Enemy control and because of his almighty authority and power that broke the stranglehold of death and commanded life to return, those under His banner are made free and given life that cannot end.
Our salvation has been secured. Christ reigns supreme. The dawn of a new age is here.
However, today our fight is not over. While salvation has been accomplished, the work of God in our time is ongoing in our world and in the hearts of humanity. The Devil still prowls around like a roaring lion looking for souls to devour. We need to be prepared for the daily struggles and attacks against our soul. And we have a mission to carry out. Others are trapped behind enemy lines and have yet to hear and believe that Jesus' side is the winning side. Our commander called us to "go and preach the good news to ALL creation." Short time, my brothers and sisters!
We need to be ready, prepared, and mentally focused to sacrifice our lives in service of our commanding officer, Jesus Christ.
This is one pillar of our mission here at Underground, to prepare you to be a soldier for Christ. Through courses, group discussions, events and challenges, we will push this community to practice being ready for whatever may come and prepared to act when the opportunity arises. Join our online community (when it goes live later this year) to get the resources, tools and training you need.
We are in the Lord's army, my friends.
Form up and move out!

Romans 8:35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 6:10-20
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
2 Timothy 2:1, 3-4
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ... Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
